Let’s jump right into the deep end - How much do invitations & stationery cost?

Pricing depends on several factors; the level of customization (if you choose form my COLLECTION, or want something SEMI-CUSTOM or CUSTOM designed), quantity, number of insert cards, size of cards, paper type, envelope printing, etc. Because every couple has different needs and desires, each suite is priced individually. To give you an idea, here are some average costs of a wedding invitation suite for each Design Customization Option:
COLLECTION couples average $600
SEMI-CUSTOM couples average $1200
CUSTOM couples average $2000

To be more specific, for example, if you choose a design from my Collection (personalization of words is always included) 100 invitations would be - $285 (5x7” flat) and RSVP Cards would be $195. Invitation envelopes are $90 for plain white, or $205 for white envelopes with printing (guest address, return address and part of the artwork to coordinate). Custom illustrated maps are $350. Folding Invitations are comparable to a flat invitation + 2 insert cards for content, and average $750 for 100. Venue Illustrations are $300 and can be added to any design. Minimum order amount is $300.

Envelope printing is encouraged as it creates a clean and cohesive package! White envelopes are standard, and coloured or textured envelopes/paper can be substituted for additional cost, at request.

P.S. All of my invitations are double sided to show off the artwork and leave room for the important information!

Can you change the colours of your artwork or fonts of an existing design?

In most cases, yes, I can change the colours and fonts of an existing design to match the look and feel of your event! That would be considered a SEMI-CUSTOM design option :)

When should we send out our invitations?

Timing for sending out wedding invitations depends on a few factors, but in general I like to say about 4 months prior to your wedding day, or 2 months if you send a save-the-date. You want to make sure there is enough time for the invitations to arrive, and your guests to send back their RSVP cards, but not too much so they forget! If it's a summer wedding, the earlier the better, as schedules can get booked up quickly! Save-the-dates can be sent up to a year in advance, but no earlier.

How much time does it take in total?

The timeline for stationery depends on the complexity of the order (number of items, amount of customization, luxe paper options, etc.) Generally speaking, if you’re interested in one of my COLLECTION designs, it’s ideal to begin the process at least 4-6 weeks before you’d like the prints in your hands. That will allow for personalization, revisions, proofs and shipping. If you’d like a new, CUSTOM design, 8-12 weeks is ideal.

Do you address and/or assemble the invitations?

Envelope printing is a great option! I can have all of your guests’ addresses (along with your return address and an illustration from the design to make it pretty!) printed on the invitation and RSVP envelope, so all you need to do is stamp them! Assembly is not included in my pricing, but can be completed for an additional fee (determined by the amount of pieces and complexity of assembly).

Can you design items other than wedding invitations?

Absolutely! I can design anything that can be printed, including custom maps, insert cards, belly bands, printed envelopes using the chosen artwork, menus, programs, placecards, table numbers, signage, and thank you cards! I can also design invitations for any event, such as engagement parties, bridal or baby showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties. etc!

I also specialize in watercolour brush-lettering and would love to letter your favorite quote, song lyric or recipe for a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

How many invitations should I order?

After you count up the households you’ll be mailing to, I recommend ordering 5-10 extra sets, for any additional guests and keepsakes

What should we write?

You can word your invitations however you’d like - I always encourage my couples to use their own voice and infuse their personality into the verbiage, or phrase it to imply the formality of the event. It can be as fun or formal as you'd like. You can see some ideas HERE!

Do you proofread?

Nope! I’d prefer to leave that up to you and your loved ones, and I’ll stick to the design and artwork! I’ll do my best to catch anything out of place text-wise, but I keep my focus on the overall look and aesthetics!

What date should I use on my RSVP cards?

4-6 weeks prior to the big day is most common, but you’ll want to check with your reception location or caterer to see when they need a final count. I’d suggest adding a week or two to follow up with the ones you haven’t heard from (inevitability!).

Will I get to see a printed sample of my design to approve?

Once you’ve approved the digital proof, you can absolutely have a printed proof mailed to you for approval before ordering the final batch! They typically take about 7-10 business days to arrive, within North America (International depends on location). Note: Samples of specialty envelopes are not offered, as they are ordered as needed.

Are rush orders available?

If my schedule permits, I can work with a rush order – you’ll just have to ask!

Yes, absolutely! I can work all over the globe thanks to the internet :) I work with Canadian and US clients often, but for countries outside of North America, I’d recommend 3-4 weeks extra to account for shipping and possible customs delays (duties and customs fees are the sole responsibility of the client). We could also discuss the possibility of working with a printer in your area.

Do you work with international clients?

How to I affix a paper or vellum wedding wrap (a.k.a belly band)?

I made a video to show you! It’s easy, and a fun task to do with your partner, friends or family :)
